You may have noticed that we are currently having new louvres installed in our bell tower. This essential work is being undertaken as the old louvres were rotting away. We hope you’ll agree that the new louvres look beautiful, and they should last for many years. Additional repairs are also being carried out on some of the internal stonework (mullions). Fractured pieces of stone are being removed, cleaned and replaced using bonding to secure them in position. Temporary wooden wedges help to keep the completed repair in place. Though hidden from view, this work will help to ensure the integrity of the bell tower for years to come.
